If you don't accept failure as a possibility, you don't set high goals, you don't branch out, you don't try - you don't take the risk.

Our services to major public events

As stadia and even cities compete to attract major events, the ability to assure stakeholders that the associated risks will be managed effectively is becoming increasingly important. An important feature of such events is the wide range of organisations involved in delivering a successful event, and the need for a competent organisation to ensure that the various operational plans knit together.

Risk Solutions has established an enviable reputation for providing risk assurance to national stadia and major public events over the last decade. We have provided consultancy services to Wembley, Twickenham and Lords, and we are particularly proud of our association with major events in central London to celebrate the New Millennium, Queen’s Golden Jubilee and the Olympic Torch Relay as part of the build up to the Athens Olympics.

Safety issues (particularly those associated with crowd management) lie at the heart of our assignments, but welfare issues are increasingly important to event organisers since these are more likely to affect participants’ impression of the event. We also understand the importance of looking beyond the event footprint to consider how people will get to and from activities – a particular issue for the Millennium Eve and Golden Jubilee celebrations.

Through our prior experience and network of contacts responsible for organising such events, we are able to get to the heart of the issue without placing an unnecessary burden on stakeholders. Characteristics of our assignments are:

  • A structured approach to the identification of potential risk issues
  • Use of checklists (published and from our prior work) to identify gaps
  • A consultative approach that involves all the stakeholders
  • A pragmatic approach to identifying key risks and closing them out
  • Proven systems for recording and reporting the status of risks.
