Client feedback
“… a deeply enriching experience. As a mentor, he brought facilitation to life through rich real-world examples, live session debriefs, and incisive questions that stretched my thinking. Every conversation carried pearls of wisdom that strengthened my presence, sharpened my design choices, and helped me build confidence to stay emergent in complex rooms — while also shaping a clear learning journey for my continued growth as a facilitator. Each session left me with practical shifts I could immediately apply.”

Coaching or Mentoring?
We can take either a Coaching or Mentoring approach.
Both coaching and mentoring are non-directive – that is we focus on listening, reflection, and helping you uncover your own solutions.
Coaching
In Coaching, the focus is on helping you develop specific skills and goals within a set timeframe. While these may also have an impact on personal attributes such as social interaction or confidence, the emphasis is very much on improving your performance at work.
We start by agreeing your individual goals for the programme – aiming for a description that is specific and measureable. We ask questions designed to make you explore your own thinking more deeply. We may agree (together) to use a simple goal oriented dialogue framework such as G.R.O.W (Goal, current Reality, Options, and Will (or Way Forward)) both over the whole programme and within each session, to structure the questions. Success is measured by your progress towards clarity on how to meet the agreed challenge, which might be a specific piece of work, adopting a new capability or role, or reaching clarity on how you understand the chosen specialist area.
Typically coaching is delivered over four to six 60 minute sessions, two to four weeks apart.
Mentoring
Mentoring is more development-driven, focusing on your career growth beyond your current role. The focus is on learning from our experience in the chosen specialist area, so our input while still not directive (telling you what to do) does involve offering insights and advice from our own experience. We may introduce relevant examples and stories or direct you to other sources that we believe contain information that will help you. We might work through examples from our work or your challenge together with you to illustrate how we might approach it. Success is measured by insights gained, ideas or information you are able to apply in your work and confidence built in the chosen specialist area.
Mentoring relationships tend to be longer term than coaching arrangements, typically involving six to eight sessions around a month or six weeks apart to allow time for more reflection and application of concepts between sessions.
You are in control…
Whether in coaching or mentoring, the focus is on your needs and you drive the agenda and collate any materials or notes for your later use. Our commitment to you is to focus on your issues and challenges during our sessions throughout your programme and support you in progressing in insight, capability and confidence in your chosen specialist area.
